Bright Arpeggios Under a Heavy Heart, and How to Hear Them on LNNY’s Gehen Rafatape Remix

Bright Arpeggios Under a Heavy Heart, and How to Hear Them on LNNY's Gehen Rafatape Remix

Berlin Producer Rafatape Turns LNNY’s Melancholy Pop Into a Pulsing Synth Track

Relentless synth arpeggios drive the Rafatape Remix of Gehen, and they run straight into a vocal full of melancholy. LNNY, a singer from south-west Germany now based in Berlin, released the remix with Berlin producer Rafatape on 12 December 2025. It is one of two versions on the Gehen (Remixe) single.

LNNY & Rafatape’s Gehen remix sits in the playlist below, taken from the Gehen (Remixe) single, with the pair’s coverage listed on the LNNY and Rafatape artist profile. The remix came to this desk through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news sites. Press play for the arpeggios, then read on for how the contrast works.

The Production Trick at the Centre of the Remix

That clash is the whole idea, and it is easy to hear. The Berlin music blog Berlin On Air described the remix as energetic and pulsing, with an atmosphere that may well get people dancing. In the same review, it singled out the contrast with the voice, which it heard as precise and purposeful but also vulnerable and thoughtful.

The production is built from layers. Berlin On Air also praised the variety of synth textures the track unfolds piece by piece. Meanwhile, NewIndieRadar heard unstoppable synthesizer arpeggios lighting up the room, over an energetic beat that recalls classic 1990s electro productions. It also compared the feel to a fresh, modern disco pop track, with honest songwriting underneath.

Two reference points help here. Giorgio Moroder built I Feel Love in 1977 around a sequenced synth arpeggio running under Donna Summer’s voice. The Rafatape Remix uses the same basic trick: a machine pattern that never stops, with a human voice riding on top. Later, Depeche Mode showed how dark, melancholy singing could sit inside bright electronic pop, which is exactly the tension this remix chases.

The remix is also short. It runs to 2 minutes 38 seconds, so the arpeggios never outstay their welcome. As a result, the track lands as a compact electropop single rather than an extended club mix.

The Melancholy at the Heart of the Gehen Rafatape Remix Starts With Its One-Word Title

Gehen means to go or to leave in German, and the title sets the subject. This is a song about departure. NewIndieRadar heard melancholy and a certain sadness in it, perhaps over a relationship that has ended. Berlin On Air described lyrics that radiate emotional pain, caught by the dark, tense side of the music.

The remix does not soften that. Instead, it keeps the vocal at the centre and changes what surrounds it. The words stay heavy, while the arpeggios and the beat push forward. In other words, the song invites you to dance and to feel the loss at the same time, and neither side wins.

That is the craft choice worth listening for. Play the remix once for the beat and once for the voice. On the second pass, the brightness of the synths starts to sound like a mask over something sadder.

The Gehen Rafatape Remix Sits Beside a CPUfriendly Version on a Two-Track Remix Single

The Gehen (Remixe) single holds two versions. The first is a remix by CPUfriendly, who has also worked with LNNY on Herz tanzt Breakdance. The second is the Rafatape Remix, which runs a few seconds longer. The original Gehen appears on LNNY’s album Von Dämonen und Engeln, so the remixes give an existing song a second life on the dance floor.

That album already circles the same theme. Alongside Gehen, it includes Wenn du gehst, a duet with Playsi whose title means when you leave, as well as Kalter Rauch and Bevor die Welle bricht. Heard next to those songs, the remix reads as a fresh angle on a subject LNNY keeps returning to, this time with the tempo turned up.

LNNY works with a wide circle of collaborators. His credits include tracks with LVIS, KK NAKED, SOMMERSPROSSE and Lézan, and his second EP, Jenseits der Stille, is out on Spotify and Apple Music. In addition, the remix reached the curated picks of Inspotmusic in its daily discovery series.

From the ElectroPop.News curator team: “Listen for the moment the arpeggio and the vocal line up. The synth pattern keeps its bright, steady pulse, the voice stays low and serious, and the gap between them is where the Rafatape Remix gets its pull.”

Who the Gehen Rafatape Remix Is For

This remix suits listeners who like dark pop with a dance beat under it. It also suits anyone who follows the Berlin electronic pop scene, or who still reaches for 1990s electro when a song needs both a pulse and a heartache.

Follow LNNY across platforms: Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, YouTube channel, Instagram, Facebook, Linktree, and every store via the smartlink.
