A Dutch Producer’s Bitwig Home Studio and a Piano Bridge Shape a Slow-Building Alt-Pop Single

According to the project’s own website, the Pearl Project studio is the place where Bitwig Studio meets a MIDI controller. Love 2 Love You, released on 10 October 2025, shows what Dutch producer Marc Denys builds there. It is an alternative pop single with lo-fi edges that fades in on shimmering synth melodies and grows slowly around a soft lead vocal.

Pearl Project’s Love 2 Love You sits in the dark pop and alt-pop playlist below. The project’s full run of coverage is collected on the Pearl Project profile. The single reached this desk through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news desks. Put it on, then read on for how the piano bridge works.

The Love 2 Love You Hook Builds From Shimmering Synths and a Pumping Pulse Programmed at Home

The opening takes its time. Shimmering synth melodies fade in gradually before the vocal arrives, so the hook is established as a sound first and a melody second. Underneath, the synth layers pulse with a pumping, swinging motion, and a steady electronic rhythm keeps time like a heartbeat.

That pulse has a history. Before Pearl Project launched in 2023, Denys spent years making house music under another alias. The pumping motion is a house producer’s habit carried into a softer setting. His site now describes the project as genre-fluid, with the story setting the course rather than the tempo. It also lists the signature elements like a patch sheet: driving synth lines, propulsive percussion and wide atmospheric pads.

Bitwig Studio suits that way of working. The DAW is known for its strong modulation and automation tools. They let a producer build movement into a synth line instead of riding every change by hand. For a single that depends on slow, steady motion, that is the right machine for the job.

A Private Poem From Stampersgat Became the Lyric, and the Arrangement Leaves Room for It

The words came first. In the story Denys shared alongside the release, Love 2 Love You began years earlier as a private poem. He wrote it during the hardest period of his life in Stampersgat, Noord-Brabant. Years later he found it again while looking through old notebooks and decided to turn it into a song. The single’s note on the project’s discography page calls it a promise said out loud, and the mood the project describes is hopeful and deep.

That origin explains the restraint in the delivery. The vocal stays soft and close, nearer to a conversation than a performance. Meanwhile, the lyric keeps returning to one idea: learning to love someone the right way. Nothing in the arrangement competes with it.

A Piano Bridge and a Slow Widening Groove Give Love 2 Love You Its Four-Minute Shape

Love 2 Love You runs for four minutes and 16 seconds, and it uses the length to build. The groove widens as the song goes on, with each layer given room rather than stacked on the last. Midway through, a soft piano enters on the bridge and grounds the synths. It works as a quiet reset before the song rises into its final chorus. The contrast between warm piano and cooler synth tones is where the record’s mood comes from.

For a synth-pop listener, that bridge is the lesson. Holding an acoustic instrument back until the middle of a mostly electronic arrangement makes its arrival feel like a change of room. It does so without adding a single new synth patch.

Listeners who follow Petit Biscuit will recognise the approach. The French producer wrote his first songs in secret in his room and broke through with Sunset Lover in 2015. He combined acoustic elements with electronic production, much as Love 2 Love You sets piano against synths. Similarly, ODESZA fans will hear the slow-build logic, where a groove opens up gradually under a soft vocal instead of dropping all at once.

Who the Alt-Pop Single Is For and Where to Follow Marc Denys and Pearl Project Online

This is a single for listeners who like alternative and lo-fi pop with electronic underpinnings. It also suits home producers curious about how far a simple setup can carry a song. Anyone who prefers a slow build to a big drop will find plenty here.

ElectroPop.News curator team: “The smartest decision on Love 2 Love You is the piano. Saving it for the bridge gives the synths something to push against. As a result, the final chorus lands with more weight than another synth layer could have given it.”

Love 2 Love You is also available on Apple Music.
